The fight at the library was fake. It was just a joke on the new kids. They were messing around and didnt mean anything by it. The outcome of this fight was all the new kids awing in disbelive which was just what they wanted to happen. The fight at the river was serious. Shay and Tally were arguing about turning pretty. Tally didnt think that they should just spend the rest of their life the way they were. She thought they were all suppose to be pretty and be the same people. Shay thought that they were great the way they were. That they didnt need to change their apperance to be pretty. They only had to be pretty on the inside.

Summary of chapter.

Tally and Shay make there way to the ruins. Tally sees all the old, rotted buildings and houises. Shay shows Tally the rollercoaster. They ride the rollercoaster on their hoverboards. Shay doesn't tell Tally about the gap and Tally is in freefall for a while and then getrs back on track. Tally is angry with Shay for telling her, but she gets over it. Then Shay tells Tally she is gong to meet someone.

They are when everyone was ugly and people judged others. It is present day to us but there past. To them it was a ruin, imperfection. To us it is our community and in all of its flaws its pretty amazing.

Tally jumped of the roof of the manssion to escape. She hoover bounced for a while and then dropped her bungee suit. She ran and sneeked quietly because, fire trucks and security were chasing her. She ran fast through the woods and stopped at the sight of a figure that looked like a police officer. She frose on one knee and didnt make a sound. They both stayed there for a long time. Then suddenly the figure walks forward and it is an ugly just like Tally. Shay introduces herself and they start to head back home to Uglyville.

Shay is an ugly and makes many trips to New Pretty Town to "spy" on her old friends that have become pretties. She has brown piggtails, brown eyes, and her eyes are too far apart.
Yes, I think Shay is very much like Tally. They both are uglies, they both go to New Pretty Town to see old friends, and they both dream of the day when they become pretties.
I think Shay and Tally will become life long friends even when they are pretties.

How do you feel about the friendship of Tally and Peris? Are they true best friends why or why not?

I think Peris and Tally were once true best friends. I think they were always there for each other for what was in the inside. Now, Peris is a pretty. He is beautiful and is so used to being around people just as beautiful as him that when he sees Tally "ugly" he doesnt feel the same about her. He says that they can only be best friends when she turns "pretty". I dont think that is a true friend. A true friend should like you for who you are and our personality. Not about how you look or if you look like everyone else or not.

Tally is a true friend. She is always there for Peris and cares about him. She risked her life and chances of becoming a pretty just to see him. She doesnt care about what he looks like or that he has changed on the outside but for who he really is.

Yes. I have had a friend that I have lost touch with after moving. We were best friends all the way until 2nd grade that is. She had to move to Iowa. We both promised to email and call. The first month or so we emailed non stop about her new school, friends, and teachers. We kept in touch for about a month or so. Last year she moved back to Texas and now lives in Montgomery. I have only talked to her once since her last move to Texas.

Before Reading

How do you define beauty? What would the world be like if everyone was "beautiful"?

Beauty is the what you see and, how you think of it. Its an opinion. No matter what anyone else thinks about it. Its yours. It makes you happy and no one can change the way you think of it.

If everyone in the world was "beautiful" it would be dull. No one would stand out or be able to express who they are. It would be boring.

I chose the dancer as my "beautiful" picture. This is because, dancers are so powerful but appear gracefull and... beautiful.

I chose a hotdog as my "ugly" picture. This is because, i dislike them. They taste gross. In my opinion ugly is something that you dont find pleasant and i dont find hotdogs pleasant at all.
